Quiénes Somos

European Bulk Handling Installation EBHI, S.A., S.M.E., situated in the port of Gijón, is the main terminal for dry bulk in Spain. It principally deals in the unloading of ships carrying coal and iron ore to supply iron and steel industries and power plants.

2018: 12,8 MTm

2019: 9,79 MTm

2020: 6,90 MTm

2021: 9,6 MTm

2022: 10,3 MTm

Unloading

The quay is 837m in length and with a maximum draught of 17.98m, two ships of over 200,00 tonnes (dead weight) can be discharged at the same time.

Storage

There are two storage areas with a total capacity of 1.5 million tones. The stockyards are linked to the national road and rail networks.

Reclaiming

The terminal is connected to the Arcelor Mittal Installation via a conveyor belt system which enables unloading operations to be carried out directly. The power plants are supplied using rail and trucks.
